Tapuwae Roa is an entity of Te Kāhui o Te Ohu Kai Moana. They are a leading Māori social impact organisation. Showcased here is the 2023 Annual Report that TBD designed.
The style we used in this report as well as previous publications uses bright colours in a blue theme, elegant photography and dynamic infographs to give visual interest.
This years report had a strong emphasis on illustration. TBD designed custom Kākāriki bird icons based on the different concepts shown here. These were used as a key for different areas of the report.
The illustrative style uses colour and lines to show movement and speed. While the lines of the bird have become more abstract, it is still recognisably parrot like. Each of the icons is encased in the darker blue circle to heighten the contrast and provide a frame for the birds to be placed on.
TBD Also created the 2022 Annual Report, however this was when Tapuwae Roa was previously called Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust so this design uses the previous branding.
